This Kingston master bathroom now makes much better use of its generous space with a larger shower and new double vanity. As part of the bathroom remodel, improved lighting throughout the room, including a lighted mirror, creates a brighter and more inviting environment. A quieter exhaust fan adds another thoughtful improvement to everyday comfort.
Let’s begin by showing off the new master bathroom today.

Look at the original master bathroom before remodeling began and see where the transformation started. This room was large, but it wasn’t making the best use of all that space. The homeowner found that the room was always cold during the winter, and despite its size, the shower felt surprisingly small. A slow leak in the shower had also caused water damage to the subfloor, creating a problem that needed to be addressed. The bathroom also had a large Jacuzzi tub that rarely got used—except occasionally for bathing the dogs. It was clear the space needed more than just a cosmetic update. The goal was to create a warmer, more comfortable, and more functional bathroom that better matched how the homeowners live.

The construction process focused on solving the problems that made this large bathroom uncomfortable and less functional. To address the cold temperatures and drafts, we re-insulated the exterior walls with closed-cell spray foam and added heated floors to provide warmth during the colder months. The plumbing was also updated with new water lines and drains to accommodate the new double vanity. The shower was expanded to make better use of the available space.

The finished master bathroom remodel features a new custom-tiled shower with noticeably more room than the original. Porcelain tile, a convenient handheld shower, and frameless glass doors give the shower a clean, modern look while making it much more comfortable and functional.

The guest bathroom was showing its age as well. The old fiberglass shower insert, cracked floor tiles, and tired vanity were all near the end of their useful life, making the room feel dated and in need of an update. The remodel gave the space a complete transformation with a custom-tiled shower and frameless glass doors. Heated floors and heated towel bars add comfort, while a lighted mirror and quieter exhaust fan bring some welcome modern conveniences to this guest bathroom.

One of the details that really stands out in this bathroom is the attention given to the tile installation. Care was taken to line up the veining from one tile to the next, creating a smooth, continuous pattern that gives the walls a natural, almost seamless appearance. It is a small detail, but one that makes a big difference in the finished look.
