Every situation is different, and there are limitless options to choose from when deciding on a New Home Addition. Here we show a neighbor of yours in Plymouth who was looking to build a new sunroom. There was an old deck that was having numerous issues which had to be dealt with when we tore it down.
There were problems with the flashing and water proofing around the old deck, window and door openings. Part of the project was removing the existing siding and WRB and fixing some extensive rot to the sheathing and framing.
Here is where you can see the actual structure in place.
We go inside to show the process of getting the window sills perfectly aligned, important in order to get the trim details right.
The whole exterior was finished with Extruded PVC, which is impervious to rot.
Closed cell foam insulation was used in the walls, floor and roof. Being on a hill next to the ocean, the house is particularly susceptible to extreme high winds. This type of insulation works well at keeping out drafts and deadening noise. We prefabricated the wainscot panels in the shop, then installed them on site.
The finished sunroom home addition is a beautiful spot now for our clients to enjoy.
